PRISM

Why should it ever be illegal for a company to admit that the government has requested data from it? Maybe whose data it is could be classified. But what justification can there possibly be for making the existence of a request or type of request illegal?

Does the government have the legal ability to oblige people to lie? (As tech leaders seem to be doing when they pretend this isn't happening.)
