TopThoughts is a kind of (IMHO) "best of" my writing in various places over the last 5 or 6 years or so.

It's not finished yet.

I'm happy to see you wiki some of your top writing.

One of the reasons I like to read your writing so much that you come up with really big ideas and manage to pack them into a single sentence. The problem with that is the sentences are likely to be found buried in the comments at Web sites hither and yawn.

Your humble opinion is what matters, but IMHO TCP/IP vs The Dollar would be well included on your list.

Hi John,

as always you're way too kind. But that's a good idea. I don't know if there's anything very well written, but something on TCP/IP vs. Dollar should be there. I'll have look. Thanks.

BTW : finally changed the Hood blogroll to the new dynamically updated one so we can see when you've posted something new.

I've just re-read one of your pieces on SemWeb which was great, but what struck me most was the HUGE long list of self promoting (no doubt autonomous) comments that accumulated on that posting before you switched to "logged on only" comments.

It's this kind of thing that makes me more and more convinced that any collaborative space that allows annonymous contributions will always be too vulnerable to defectors of this kind.

The management of identity, reputation and trust is going to have to become a crucial, shared building block of the future of the network.

In this context, I really ought to learn more details about where they've got to with the OpenID scheme.

... but the SemWeb stuff was very interesting too ... lots to chat about another time.

Yeah, I've been slowly deleting those spam comments off and on for a while. Did another quick burst today, but very time-consuming.

I think there were over a hundred when I started. :-(
