Update : listening to their free album. Good stuff.

BTW : DJ Oops (who's behind this) once remixed one of my remixes of 2 Finos e um Grave. To be fair he saved it from a couple of weaknesses. A fine touch with the compressor managed to beef the bass up to a considerably more respectable level than my feeble effort. OTOH he lost a certain poly-rhythmic chaos to the rap that I considered a feature rather than bug.

This Moon Wiring Mix looks (and indeed sounds) awesome.

Hauntology, England's Hidden Reverse, G-Funk, Trip Hop, IDM, Dilla, Zelda, Grime, Wonky, Witch-house ... and then some really crazy stuff.

Only thing missing is my new favourite sound : Maribou State (think Lucky Dragons meets James Blake in a Glo-fi House vibe.)

Today, I'm totally awestruck by Chicago Footwork and Juke. Give this a listen.

I love the fact that they've taken something incredibly simple and dumb (basically riddiculously short vocal snippets looped ad nauseum) and pushed it extreme enough to come up with a weird kind of sublime continuum of sound.

Ends up like weird cross of Steve Reich's tape phase experiments, Paul Hardcastle's 19 and hipnogogs like Oneohtrix Point Never or Emeralds.

Extra-ordinary once you overcome your initial revulsion at the stuttery vocals.
